Most ideas come along when they’re not needed. The
three inventors of codeME have been working for design agencies for years and,
thus, dealing with communication on a daily basis. From the very beginning, the
idea of communicating through individually designed icons has been fascinating but,
as we all know, daily matters always take precedence.
Eventually, Mike Linefield (Design), Markus
Biedermann (Marketing) and Stephan Kirchner (Public Relations) decided to move
the idea forward and started this project where they contributed their respective experience.
Everybody has got something to tell about
himself. And everybody has got something different. That’s the initial notion
of codeME. It is a system of icons allowing everybody to express his personal
features, his likings, or his hobbies.
Individual but not boring: 16 categories with 16
choices each add up to 256 different statements about oneself. Integrative to
be recognized at once. Categories are depicted by pictographic icons following
an inherent design pattern. Choices by numeral imageries recurrent in each
category.
